MOSCOW, Jul 9 (PRIME) -- The public dispute between Russian oil major Rosneft and oil pipeline monopoly Transneft over oil contamination in the Druzhba pipeline is a corporate issue, the companies should comment on it themselves, Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for President Vladimir Putin, told reporters on Tuesday.
"I know nothing. This is a corporate issue, we recommend that the companies be asked for comment," he said.
On Monday, Transneft complained on its website that Rosneft had asked for compensations right after the incident instead of active help in organizing emergency logistics routes. A Rosneft representative called the comment unconstructive and asked for a publicly available roadmap for preventing such emergencies in the future.
The problem with the quality of oil coming from Russia to Europe across Belarus via the pipeline appeared in April. The crude was contaminated with chlorides.
